There are those who have been taught properly. They have been taught manners, how to treat others respectably. Some families have quoted Words from the Bible in order to teach their children kindness and respect towards others.
After reading in Luke Chapter 6: 41-47, it leads me to question whether it would be better to allow one to grow up a heathen, only if you do not teach salvation. The reason is, I would think being raised to be kind and correct in ones actions and behavior without the teachings of Jesus Christ and his coming to save the sinner, which we are all born, would just cause one to be self righteous.
Jesus is explaining to his disciples why the woman, a sinner should not be scolded for wasting the perfume on his feet. It reads:
There was a certain creditor which had two debtors, the one owed five hundred pence and the other fifty. And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me there, which of them will love him the most?
Simon answered and said, I suppose that he to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.
And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thy house, thou gavest me no water for my feet, but she hath washed my feet with tears and wiped them with the hairs of her head.
Thou gavest me no kiss, but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
My head with oil thou didst not anoint but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.
Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins , which are many are forgiven, for she loved much. but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
How profound this is. Those who have much sin to be forgiven, loveth more the Forgiver. This causes me to think, what if one only teaches good acts to their children? Could in time their children begin to see they are much better behaved and kind than most. Then thinking they are righteous? No real understanding of their need to repent of their sins, not realizing all are born sinners.
We all are born sinners, no matter how good we are, or think we are. Jesus says we must repent of our sins. Yes, we are all born sinners. There is no other way to eternal life in heaven without recognizing this and humbling our self and asking Jesus to forgive us of our sins and him coming into our heart to change us. He then will make us righteous enough for God and eternity in Heaven.
Yes, you are different than those who are behaving like heathens in this world, but maybe only because you were taught to behave with kindness and manners. Without true repentance and salvation you are no different. Hell is real, and all who are not saved by grace will enter there. You only have to truly ask for forgiveness of your sins and ask Jesus to save you. You will be born again. You will be new again. You will be clean and free.

Older Women Teach The Younger.
Sometimes I wish I could just let things go, let someone else obey God concerning uncomfortable subjects. I made a promise to God that I would speak truth at the cost of appearing like a fool if he would once and for all take all anxiety away concerning the spiritual and overall well being of my children. I wanted it settled. I wanted peace.
It is normal to have concerns and pray, but I was having over the top anxiety. My promise was I would speak what he laid upon my heart even if I am despised. His promises in his Word come with a price and that price is obedience.
What I am about to say is heavy upon my heart. The Bible tells us that the older women are to teach the younger. My grandmother was at times like a Puritan and sometimes I would be embarrassed by her reactions and corrections. She could make me really feel shameful, but let me say that I always knew she loved me. I today am so grateful for her corrections. This woman that reared me was born in 1905. This can explain her ways as well as her teachings, but also she was a godly woman.
There is a behavior that is unsuitable for women who call themselves "Christian". I am not here to say I have it all together by any means. What I can say is what my grandmother taught me about this matter.
We are not to Wallow. Wallow physically or emotionally. She corrected me on wallowing physically . How can I say this without appearing totally from another world. Today it is accepted to behave in a wallowing manner. It is also seen as a seductive manner. Have you watched a cat wallow? Stretching finding pure pleasure in it's self and appearing to draw attention to itself to be petted.
Animals are to wallow. Elephants, pigs and rhinos are to wallow but not people and surely not for all to see. It is unbecoming for women to behave in this matter. I am not talking about what happens between a husband and wife, that is personal and godly. Let's look at this from a worldly standpoint, if you feel a Christian standpoint is too preachy.
Could you see Jackie Kennedy wearing her pearls and stylishly dressed slithering all over the sofa, behaving seductively in a public photograph of herself ? No, she knew how to behave like a lady. I am not calling her a worldly woman, Catholic or Christian, but she was a modest behaving lady. A modest lady is how Christian women should behave. To the world it is called refined. Being a lady or refined is seldom heard anymore or taught.
When you saw Jackie you knew she was "different" that difference is taught. We are to behave as Christian women, which is as a Lady. A lady is modest, polite, and she does not have a dirty or loud mouth. She is not offensive in her dress or behavior towards others.
We were corrected from wallowing on the couch as children. I taught my girls as well. Parents are to teach their children how to behave. Some girls are allowed to shake their bottoms not only at home, but in public and they are encouraged to behave this way. I understand some people will not get what I am saying, thinking this is cute and innocent. This is not Christ like behavior. It is seductive.
To make you all understand that I am not trying to sound like I know all, I will explain myself better. At sixteen I was in front of the mirror acting seductive and realizing I was changing into a woman. I had no idea my grandmother saw me behaving in this manner ( by the way kids today do more in public than what I did in privacy in front of that mirror.) Anyway, my grandmother scolded me like I had done the worse sin possible.
Yes, I felt she over reacted, yet I do know where she was coming from. She was scolding me for acting in a seductive nature and behavior before it took hold. Not only did she teach me to behave as a Christian but also wanted me to be a lady. We are called to be different. 2 Corinthians 6:17. Come out from among them and be separate.
Sexy is the new goal for women and their children! Where are we heading with this? I am talking about Christians. Taking pictures of our self or our teens in seductive suggestions is so wrong. I do realize some may not even realize what I am talking about, because you have never been told any different and you only are practicing what everyone else is practicing.
Pictures of our youth in lying positions, hair like they just got out of bed and faces in pure pleasure is really a seductive pose, only thing lacking is the purring. Pictures of ones self in bed with cleavage showing and a sultry stare is just plain unacceptable for Christian women. I am talking about exposing and exploiting yourself for all to see on facebook or other public media.
Today Churches have their youth perform dances that you can see in the local bar. Shaking and twisting their bottoms and shoulders in worse ways than Elvis in his day. I am talking about children and teenagers. They are being taught how to behave. Who is teaching our children? I can feel the Holy Spirit being slapped in the face with this behavior! I thought it was me personally being offended when I first saw this in a church and felt the shock, but this grieves the Holy Spirit.

"Don't Touch the Glory" David Wilkerson's Words. What Truth to Practise!
This was written when I attended a church that really disappointed me. I had wanted to see the church allow the gifts to operate and invite the Holy Spirit to visit. So the leaders decided to set a day aside other than Sunday for this event. They announced they would pray for the sick and the needs of the people. This was scheduled on a Saturday night, not many showed because normal Church services were on Sunday. So only those really hungry and wanting a visit from the Lord attended. The regular congregation came on Sunday, the day the Church had a ritual, schedule and their own plans. This is why I wrote this Post.
Oh they were so proud of all they had done. The building was huge and finally full of people. This was their dream to see growth, but still they wanted more. They began to build even another addition to the building, in hopes of even more and more growth. They were seeing this amazing transformation take place.
It seemed they had forgotten what the purpose was. It had become a business more than it's original purpose. They even chose a different day of the week to invite the presence and power of the Almighty God, as though inviting him was a thing they would sacrifice to do. This was on a day that was better suited for them so not to offend or expose the cultured crowd to the seemingly undignified manifestation's of the Lord.
It now was a place of glorifying the dreamers and not the Master Builder. It now is set aside for the celebrations of the leaders, not the Head. They used the Master's Day and platform for their glory. They used the Masters Day and Time for their glory, disguising it as an example or teaching of God. That Sunday morning the pulpit was used for the Pastor and his wife rededicating their marriage. The Sunday Service was spent with them remarrying in front of the congregation. They stole their audience. They had the audience all for themselves even though some people came to that Church to worship the Lord on his day. They stole the glory.

Where Did Sovereignty Go?
2011
Have you ever walked in a place that you immediately felt the Sovereignty in the air. Do you feel the "Quite" "Respectful" "Holy" "Safe", Reverence in the house of the Lord, Shamefacedness in the presence of the Lord. Is his house a house of party and laughter when you first enter? Should we come in quietly with respect to our Lord and Almighty God? Is there a spirit of I can't wait to kneel and pray, worship and adore him?
Maybe just maybe I am like the mammals frozen in time and God knew after being thawed out I would come back with the only truth I knew. When did the bible change? Was it while I was sleeping "Lost in Sin". I am beginning to wonder if my being away so many years was in my favor! Why? Because the change hasn't gradually taken me over. I was either in or out, and I was out for a long time. Now that I am in, I only know one way to be in! The Old Fashioned Way! The Word of God is the same today!
What is shamefacedness? (1 Timothy 2:9) It is opposite of sexy, yet not homely or dowdy. I remember Renee was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen when in prayer and worshiping the Lord and she was always covered. (1 Peter 1: 16-17) When did we Christian women buy into dressing and looking sexy? I am guilty too of the subtleness of it. I think the older women forgot somewhere down the line to teach the younger women. We older women started letting the younger teach us.
Why do we go to church now? Is it for recreation and time to socialize and plan our next event/party? Am I too serious to be any earthly good? Yes, I am to serious and I can not help it any more. I am just plain hungry. I have to have more. KJV (Acts 2:1-18) When we all are there to seek his face and worship him, then we are all of one accord. The Holy Ghost will be invited to move on our one minded hearts. There will again be the moving of the Holy Spirit.
Is this too a thing of the past and should be hushed. Is laying on of hands now a thing of the past? Is listening to the sermon a little past lunch time just too much for our modern Church? (James 4:9-10) Do we linger any more, do we lament anymore? Is the modern Christian now past that and we are now only speaking of riches and bounty? Is it now just about make me feel good all the time? Is it now a what can I get, what I want religion?

False Security
What I find interesting is over a year ago I was fooled. I was living beneath what I knew was right. I knew I was saved as a child, but I was living like I was totally lost, which I can see I was totally fooled. It is not attractive to go into my ways at that time. I will not bring glory to the enemy. I was just self centered and living for my own desires, yet I was always mindful of my children and family.
The amazing thing is, everything went smooth. Most drama was short lived. Things always turned out for us. I did know how to pray, and I did even though I knew I was not were I should be. I just fooled myself into believing that I by nature was born a sinner so therefore I was expected to sin. I had convinced myself that it was okay because it was the flesh not my true self and I was covered by the blood of Jesus.
We do have an advocate with the Father if we sin. We can ask for forgiveness, but we can overcome and live victorious and be free from bondage. Oh how the enemy can convince Christians to fall backwards instead of being conquerors in Christ.
Even Christians in churches today can be fooled. Some become comfortable in their places in the church. They have many friends and are praised for their works, yet may not have really examined themselves. Things must be alright, because I get praise for how I am doing. I don't know about you, but I find it frightening to be too comfortable. I have been too comfortable and also to the other extreme of feeling really insecure of my intents and is my heart really right. I hope to find a happy medium between the two, but I would think I am better off with the latter.
Since I have rededicated my life to Jesus, so much has happened. I am full of his peace and joy. Joy not meaning dancing throughout the day, although I have also done that. Tonight I read the Book of Job. It is a little hard to understand. I did get that Job was righteous and having bad things happen to you does not mean you have sinned, but I do believe sometimes that may be the case accept Job was righteous and God was proud of him. God let the enemy come against Job and God knew Job would in the end still love him and want to please him.
I am now going through the fire. My faith is being tested. It sometimes feel that everything is falling down around me, yet I still pray and talk to my Lord. I still feel close to him and know I can trust him no matter what. I have not been tested to even 1% of what Job has been tested and I have concerns of holding on and pleasing God. I am also praying to not be tested any more than he see's fit. I really want the happy go lucky days back. When one is foolish and blind they do not see the destruction ahead, so all is well one says in his heart. "That was me." Maybe the happy go lucky days are not what I need.
I do believe the mountain tops will come again in my Christian walk. They came on fast and left a little too soon. Then came the hard trials. It would be wrong to expect just the best all the time. God is Good and a Loving God. He is my Father and he is taking care of my family and me. I know his grace is sufficient and I will come out of the fire smelling like a rose and my family will shine with the love of God.
Job had to contend with those who claimed he must have sinned because of his sorrows. I know sometimes we cause our own problems by not obeying God or purposely doing evil, but Job had not sinned.
As I read Job I thought I am closer to God than I ever remember being. I feel I know him better than I have ever known him, yet I do realize he is so great I can not comprehend all of him. I have examined my heart and feel like he is pleased with me, but I can not make all my trials go away. I just hope to be one of integrity through them as Job was.

Emperor
We hear and read the Word and we retain knowledge of it. It is alive, yet we sometimes can't really see a full scope of the reality of a walking and living Jesus.
I am not well traveled. The farthest away from home was Vegas a few years ago and I have no desire to return. Some have been to the Holy Land and have seen actual physical material things made or built during the time Jesus walked on earth. Those who have, have told of the reality of Jesus as being overwhelming.
Tonight I watched a documentary called "China's Terracotta Warriors". Recently I posted of some leader or dignitary in China once saying we Americans all wanted to feel special. I then went on to say how they all seemed alike. This documentary has changed that thought, because of the view 2000 years ago.
In 1974 it was discovered a huge tomb of over 7000 terracotta life size figures. In 230 b.c. the first Emperor of China, Qin Shihuangdi ordered this extraordinary task of these figures to be buried with him in his tomb when he died. It took about 11 years for the completion of this task. He ordered statues of warriors, servants, musicians, acrobats and animals.
The most amazing thing was that there were no two warriors that looked alike. This Emperor ordered each one to be unique. He wanted each to be an individual hand made figure. This is so parallel to God who created all men, even this earthly Emperor wanted his companions to be individuals. Each one of us is different and God knows us all and ordered us into existence.
What is so real is these terracotta characters are on earth today! They have been taken from the tomb and reserved. In 2009 there was an exhibition of them. To me just seeing this documentary on TV just took me back to about 2000 years ago when Jesus walked on earth and it became real. This Emperor wanted to be in eternity with his creation of warriors. These were his for no man to look upon. They were for his pleasure. They were to go into eternity with him.
Sunday our Pastor Anderson spoke of God's love towards us and wanted us to really get it. He wanted us to really understand it. He spoke of our great knowledge of the Word, yet do we really understand his love for us. I realized later Sunday night that I needed to understand this love or at least know it to a greater extent than I had. When we really get it, everything changes. Our way of seeing how he see's us changes.
The Lord touched me through this documentary. I can see how unimportant, uneventful, and no grandiose about me. I surely am no queen or great leader. I am just a wife, mother and grandmother. No special career or education. Just simple and so happy to have a loving family, home and my needs met, yet God is mindful of me. This Emperor was an earthly and worldly man, yet he loved his individual figures. Some were actually fat, some short, tall and small. No face looked alike.
If this earthly man could be so Grand, have his creations and his power to get this done, then think of the One Who Created the Emperor, the one who created us all different and wants to be with us through eternity. He loves us so much. I have just wept after seeing this documentary. I want to be with my maker, my King. I ache to be with him. I see and feel his love for me. This is the most beautiful feeling ever. He does let us feel at times even though we are to live by faith. I see the parallel with this Emperor and this was real and it really happened over 2000 years ago, before Jesus was born and I can actually see the objects this person created for himself and can see how God loves us and created us for himself!
If you have Netflix I encourage you to watch this documentary.

SPECIAL
I believe it was China that made a statement that all Americans wanted to be special. I thought that was a strange statement when I heard it, I assumed that was human nature. I remember thinking this country was crowded and most the people looked alike and no one stood out.
They were caught in the masses. You could not tell them apart. Their attire was the same, their hair looked the same. I assumed their lives were pretty much the same.
I think the word special has become ordinary here in America and we all want to be special or at least feel special. Maybe the words should be Different or Peculiar. In 1 Peter 2:9-10 it reads, "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy."
It sounds to me that God expects us to be special/peculiar. It seems he put the desire in us or should I say, the desire we Americans/ Christians feel to be special is a seed God planted in us. We came by it honestly. It came from our Father. It is written in the Word! Yet we Americans look for "special" in the wrong places or things. The desire is natural, where we want to obtain it is sometimes worldly.
Yes, that country is right, Americans/Christians have a need to be a Special/ Peculiar people. Now we know where to find it, in our God, through Jesus Christ. It pleases him to give us our special gifts and personalities. Some of us bless people by lifting and cheering them up. Some of us are more serious and some have a calming effect on others. There is no one just like you. Finally DNA proves that.
I am sure King David felt special, but why? He sought God. God and David had a relationship! Each of us can have a personal relationship with the Lord, that no one else can intrude on. It is just You and Him. Now that is Special. May God Bless America and bring us back to our love for him. Amen.
