"Don't Touch the Glory" David Wilkerson's Words. What Truth to Practise!

This was written when I attended a church that really disappointed me. I had wanted to see the church allow the gifts to operate and invite the Holy Spirit to visit. So the leaders decided to set a day aside other than Sunday for this event. They announced they would pray for the sick and the needs of the people. This was scheduled on a Saturday night, not many showed because normal Church services were on Sunday. So only those really hungry and wanting a visit from the Lord attended. The regular congregation came on Sunday, the day the Church had a ritual, schedule and their own plans. This is why I wrote this Post.

Oh they were so proud of all they had done. The building was huge and finally full of people. This was their dream to see growth,  but still they wanted more. They began to build even another addition to the building, in hopes of even more and more growth. They were seeing this amazing transformation take place.

It seemed they had forgotten what the purpose was. It had become a business more than it's original purpose. They even chose a different day of the week to invite the presence and power of the Almighty God, as though inviting him was a thing they would sacrifice to do. This was on a day that was better suited for them so not to offend or expose the cultured crowd to the seemingly undignified manifestation's of the Lord.

It now was a place of glorifying the dreamers and not the Master Builder. It now is set aside for the celebrations of the leaders, not the Head. They used the Master's Day and platform for their glory. They used the Masters Day and Time for their glory, disguising it as an example or teaching of God. That Sunday morning the pulpit was used for the Pastor and his wife rededicating their marriage. The Sunday Service was spent with them remarrying in front of the congregation. They stole their audience. They had the audience all for themselves even though some people came to that Church to worship the Lord on his day. They stole the glory.
